Teams, clubs and classes

A team anthem your whole squad can chant

Give SongAI your team name, your colors and a battle cry. You get an epic, shout-along song in about a minute, ready to share with every member.

A group sings together when the song is about them. A custom anthem can carry your team name, your colors, your mascot and your inside jokes, with a chant that works in the locker room or at the end-of-season party. It is made by your group, for your group.

What makes a good team or school song

Build it around a call and a response. One line asks, everyone answers: who are we, then the team name. It is the part people remember first, and it works whether there are five of you or fifty. Rock with an epic mood brings big drums and a chorus made for shouting. Hip-hop with a confident mood suits a chant with a heavy beat.

Fill it with what only your group has. Your team name, colors and mascot, the field or gym where you meet, a famous comeback or a running joke. For a class or reunion song, use your graduating year and shared memories. Keep it friendly: cheer for your side instead of mocking opponents, and avoid jokes at the expense of one member. If your team name is a pun or a made-up word, show how it is said.

Know what the license covers. Personal, non-commercial use includes sharing with members, playing at practice and team parties, and posting on personal social media without monetization. It does not stretch to broadcasts, merchandise, paid events or an official school or league anthem, because there is no commercial license. An unofficial anthem for your group is exactly what it is for.

Example prompt

  • “An epic rock anthem for the Thursday Night Otters, our amateur soccer team in green and gold. Big drums, a call-and-response chorus where the singer asks who are we and the crowd answers Otters, with clean lyrics.”

Example lyrics

Green and gold, we're marching through the rain Thursday night, we're on the field again Who are we? Otters! Who are we? Otters! We miss a shot, we laugh, we run once more Win or lose, we know what we're here for Every voice together, loud enough to hear The Thursday Night Otters, year after year

How to make it

  1. Open Create and describe your group: team or class name, colors, mascot and the chant you want, like a call-and-response line.
  2. Pick rock with an epic mood for a huge, chant-ready sound, or hip-hop with a confident mood. Male, female and auto vocals all work.
  3. Once it is created, play both versions to a few teammates and keep the one people start shouting without being asked.
  4. Chant buried in the mix? Make another request that puts the call-and-response hook at the very top and after every verse.
  5. Share the link with every member in the team chat. Pro or Studio lets you keep the file for practice or the season party.

Tips for a better song

  • Keep the response to one or two words, like the team name. A crowd can shout a word, not a sentence.
  • Add your colors and mascot to the lyrics, so the song could only be about your group.
  • Making a reunion song? Mention the year, a favorite teacher by first name and the hallway everyone remembers.
  • Share the lyrics with the group before the party, so everyone knows the answer when the call comes.
  • Cheer for your side, not against the other. Positive chants travel further and keep the mood friendly.
  • Make one anthem for the season and a slower one for the final team dinner, so the year ends on a softer note.

Questions

Start with a call-and-response line, add your team name and colors, and keep each line short enough to chant. Describe it on Create, or paste your own lyrics, and pick rock with an epic mood.

Yes. Add them to the description or your own lyrics and say the name should lead the chorus. Write an unusual name out by sound, so it is more likely to be sung correctly.

No. Official school or league use, broadcasts, merchandise and paid events need a commercial license, which SongAI does not offer. An unofficial anthem for your class, club or team to sing together is fine.

Yes. Describe your class year, shared memories and inside jokes, and ask for a chorus everyone can sing. Share the link with classmates before the reunion so they can learn it.

Yes. Keep the words kid-friendly and upbeat, with the team name and a simple chant, and check the lyrics before you share the link with the other families.
